We visit what remains (after the destruction consequent advent of `all` Unity of Italy) desired by the great military fortress after the Farnese Pope Paul III “Out War” and the subsequent annexation of the Papal State, and built, between 1540 and 1543, designed by Antonio da Sangallo the Younger over populated medieval quarter of the Baglioni. Already a symbol of papal rule, the Rock, with its space recovered and restored, path is now a cultural and exhibition and the seat of “Services Centre Museum of Rocca Paolina”: “The Rocca Paolina and the city”.
