The origin of the building, former residence of the Counts de Comitibus or, one of the most ancient lineages of Foligno, goes back at least to the fifteenth century. By subsequent events parental, the palace has derived the name Gentili Spinola.
In the courtyard you can admire an elegant portico with three arches, with several coats of arms and a well hung with real stone octagonal showing the coat of arms of de Comitibus.
The vault of the hall on the first floor is decorated with frescoes by stucco cornices, operates the Foligno Giovan Battista Michelini. The scene, divided into three compartments - two ovals (up, theAstronomy, in the bottom History) and one rectangular center (the Foundation of Foligno), si ispira al Quadriregio Federico Frezzi.
Remarkable is also the furniture; remarkable is, particularly, Gian Domenico Foligno's painting depicting a Mattei Episode of St. Charles Borromeo in Foligno, evidence of repeated stays in this palace of St. Charles.
