It is a small mountain hamlet of the town of Foligno, known in particular for power, granted to the male branch of the family Gates, to heal with the laying on of hands from one disease ischiadiche, power that traditionally would have been granted to the legendary founder of St. Paul the Apostle, on the transition that the two apostles, Peter and Paul, would have done in the territory of Foligno.
The present church, derived from a small oratory was built probably between 1652 and 1657, was carried out between 1744 and 1763, in the shape of a Greek cross with three altars.
Behind the high altar and below the level of the church, is the "Room of the Apostles", where they stayed Peter and Paul, which is accessed via two staircases flanking the apse, with iron railings.
In the apse there is an oil painting depicting Saints Peter and Paul, Piedmont attributed to the painter Claudio Francesco Beaumont.
On the left, fabric with Virgin and saints, by an unknown artist, probably from the early eighteenth century.
On the right, fabric with San Feliciano, by Antonio Coccetti.
